No. The Mini does not support connections to external batteries. However, it is our first recorder designed with the option to use lithium batteries, which can store much more energy than alkaline batteries. By using the optional lithium battery lid, six 18650 lithium cells can be used to run a Mini for 1200 hours of continuous recording or to run a Mini Bat up to 150 ten-hour nights of ultrasonic bat recording, depending on bat activity levels. If you need longer deployment times, our Song Meter SM4 and SM4BAT recorders do have an external power connector.
