Camcorder Video System

This system consists of a modified Panasonic VHS-C Camcorder driven by a video system controller, internal batteries, integral IR illuminator, and solar regulator, all mounted inside a robust purpose built cast aluminium and fibreglass weatherproof housing. External to the housing are optional auxiliary batteries, infra red (or other) sensors, auxiliary IR illuminators, and remote microphone. The camcorder system features (a) adjustable sensor sensitivity, (b) either fast or power save mode, (c) a programmable real time LCD clock, and (d) an optional sensor logic control.

Modifications to the camcorder enable daytime colour video recording down to low light levels (0.3 lux at the lens) while automatically converting to high resolution infra-red recording in complete darkness when required.

Other camcorder features include auto focus and exposure, half speed recording, date and time printing and up to 200 times zoom magnification. An included adaptor allows the small format video cassette to be played and edited using a standard home VCR.

The camcorder model is compact, quick to set up and easy to operate. All controls and functions are easily accessed and adjusted. The base unit weighs 6 kg complete with internal batteries, and measures 380 mm X 190 mm X 250 mm.
