Automated Wildlife Video Surveillance Systems

The Faunatech Video Surveillance Recorders have been developed to provide researchers with powerful and programmable user-friendly tools for the automated and extensive field recording of animal behaviour. Additional applications include covert security surveillance and trail monitoring.

Each model has been developed as an integrated and self-contained system, designed to:

• be field portable;
• be easy to setup and operate by non-technical users;
• be flexible, enabling effective deployments across a broad range of study situations;
• consume low power to maximise operating life on small batteries;
• allow unattended trouble-free operation in remote field locations for extended periods.

The range consists of the Camcorder based system, and a number of versions of the Modular system. Options include a variety of camera/lens combinations, auxiliary infra-red illuminators, a number of sensors types, solar rechargers, and customised software for special applications. The descriptions below refer to the "deluxe" model of the camcorder and modular system respectively.

SYSTEM CONFIGURATIONS

The Series 1000 is a system built around a Panasonic camcorder. The Series 2000 is a non-sensor driven full VHS system, while the Series 3000 is sensor driven, offered as an economy version of the Series 4000. The 4000 represents Faunatech's top of the range video surveillance system, incorporating the full suite of options and supplied with the most powerful software.
