Faunatech Professional Spotlighting Equipment

The Faunatech Professional Spotlighting Unit consists of a battery powerpack, in either the "Spot-On" waist belt or traditional shoulder strap versions; a hand held quartz halogen spotlight; and charger with instructions.

The powerpacks utilises a modern fully sealed lead acid battery, eliminating acid spills and electrolyte loss, even when inverted. With a capacity of 20 ampere/hours at 12 volts, the battery will provide approximately 4.0 hours of operation at 55 watts.

The "Spot-On" waistbelt powerpack is our premium model. Designed for the professional, it cannot be beaten for overall comfort and durability. It can withstand serious knocks and abrasion in rigorous field conditions. The numerous quick and easy adjustments (to accomodate all shapes and sizes), combined with the hip mounted connection socket allow you to get underway in no time.

The shoulder strap version consists of a tough cast polymer cap housing the battery and a high current polarised socket for attachment to spotlight or charger. Dual fuse holders (main and spare) are also incorporated in the cap. The fuses and socket are positioned for protection from branches etc as the operator passes through heavy undergrowth, and most importantly, for quick and easy connection or replacement in the dark. All wiring is concealed and out of harm's way. The battery powerpack is carried in a heavy duty synthetic canvas carry bag; a closed cell foam liner provides extra protection. The carry bag is shrink, stretch and rot proof. All stress points are reinforced with copper rivets.

HAND HELD SPOTLIGHT: A tough ABS spotlight head is fitted with a 115 mm, 55 watt quartz halogen semi-sealed beam providing excellent beam spread for wildlife spotlighting. The semi-sealed halogen bulb enables bulb replacement without the need to replace the entire reflector unit. The spotlight is connected to the powerpack via quick release plug. If preferred the unit can be supplied with a 100 watt insert.

CHARGER: The standard 500 mA charger is fully voltage regulated, ensuring efficient charging while protecting against overcharging. We have two higher capacity switch-mode regulated chargers, where fast charge times are required, in 1 and 4 amp versions. All chargers are fitted with a polarised plug to eliminate inadvertent reverse polarity charging. Full charging and maintenance instructions are included.
