General Purpose Movement Sensors
The surveillance systems described above are generally triggered by our specially designed movement sensors. We offer two general purpose versions: the Active Infra-red Pair, which sets up a narrow accurate beam, or our Passive Infra-red Sensor, which senses a "volume" of space. The former is far more suited to the intelligent sensor filtering functions found in our surveillance systems; while the latter, though less versatile, uses less power and offers greater ease of deployment in certain situations.
Setting up of either type is simplified by our flexible attachment and adjustment system. Optional stainless steel braiding protects against rodent attack for cabled versions. Alternatively, the sensors can be ordered with radio links. In this case, the sensors require their own battery pack.

Special Purpose Sensors
Insect Sensor
The insect sensor is a highly specialized device used to capture insect, bird or bat foraging activity on flowers and fruits. It consists of six very narrow (2.5 mm) strobing active infra red beams mounted in a multi adjustable mounting boom and RockPod.

Glider Sensor
Our Glider Sensor is installed around the circumference of a pole or tree trunk to detect ascending arboreal animals.
Combined with our FaunaFocus camera and special camera strut, these sensors have been used in determining the efficacy of glider pole structures over highways.
Refer to our section Fauna Mitigation Systems for more detail.

Treadle Sensor
This clever device uses no power as it uses the weight of a traversing animal to trigger a camera. It is highly sensitivity, responding to animals as light as 10 grams. The Treadle can be ordered in any width.

Rope Bridge Sensor
Our rope bridge sensor was specifically designed to reliably sense the movement of fauna across fauna rope bridge structures (also known as canopy bridges, rope ladders or rope tunnels).
Refer to our section Fauna Mitigation Systems for more detail.
